More Mindfulness classes give students, who have some mindfulness experience, a chance to go deeper in their attention practices and learn more tools for handling challenging moments, negative thought patterns and anxiety.These sessions provide an opportunity for kids to practice their mindful tools and strategies in a formal group setting, while learning more about their brains and nervous systems.

Rotary District 7470, serving northern and central New Jersey, is looking for 28 students to represent its region in a cultural exchange with Japan.

Most importantly, it teaches them to notice unhelpful thoughts and grow positive thinking.

This practice builds resilience and positive emotion.

Mindfulness helps teens identify a racing mind, rising emotion and distractibility.

It provides simple tools to direct attention, regain focus and calm big feelings of time pressure and performance anxiety.

Mindfulness strengthens the “smart” parts of our brains — the parts responsible for emotional regulation, focus and memory — just as exercise strengthens our bodies.

Children and adults who practice mindfulness report feeling more focus, less anxiety and greater happiness.
